Open Water Swim Clinics for Adult Men and Women

If you would like to be more relaxed and faster while swimming in open water, have quicker transitions times, and have an opportunity to get in a great workout, our Open Water Swim Clinics are for you.

In preparation for the triathlon season, Triathlon Ready is hosting several open water swim clinics, allowing you to be ready to race. Learn how to swim in a lake for a race or for fun! This class is a must for preparing you for the swim portion of a triathlon or for an open water swim of any type.

There is more to swimming than just doing lap after lap, turning when you reach the wall at the end of the pool. You can swim in places with no walls for a change of scenery .... lakes, oceans, rivers.

Learn and practice the skills needed to swim in open water and for triathlon racing. These clinics will include information on the ins & outs of lake swimming, along with lots of practice and some drills in a group. Some topics that will be discussed:

• Swim a straight line, drafting and sighting
• Swim safely in a crowd
• Swim efficiently, turning
• Start and Finishes
• Much more

This clinic is perfect for the beginner to the more intermediate swimmers. You must be able to swim 200 yards to take the clinic. Prior to class and entering the water, a waiver will need to signed by each athlete. There will also be a sign in and sign out sheet after each instructed clinic. Course will be set up with buoys to practice. Please bring your goggles, swim cap and towel.

At the end of each clinic, we will also be available to review equipment, transition tips, and insightful strategies for the race(s). Great opportunity for a brick workout after the conclusion of the swim clinic.

There will be seven (7) open water swim clinics. Start at 10:00am and approximately last for 1-1/2 hours. Dates for the open water swim clinics. May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st. June 7th and 14th. If it is raining, clinics will go on. Thundering and lightning, clinics will be closed.
